Love this place. When we recently moved to the area, I was looking for a breakfast place. I stumbled upon Sweet Mornings and was quite impressed with their donut selection. Who doesn't love a good donut??? Well, these aren't just good, they are great! They also have other breakfast food and drinks. The smoothies are really good, and I hear the coffee is too (I don't drink much coffee). Glad to have found this place, just wish they were open later.

My quest for the best biscuits and gravy in Chicagoland has a new front runner! This small unassuming dounut shop is amazing. The place in general is set up with 8 small tables in front of the counter. On a Sunday it is staffed by teen or college kids. Very relaxed atmosphere so if you are in a rush just get the donuts. The bng is part of a fresh made breakfast platter. The everything is fresh made! This local place has the best sausage gravy I have had in a long time. It is think and darker than your average gravy which leads me to believe they mix in sausage fat. It is spiced to perfection. This is not the bland white dribble most places pass off. The platter consistent of 1 biscuit with a good amount of gravy. 2 prices of meat of your choice, hash browns, and two eggs scrambled for 7.50. The place is clearly new, they take your other on a iPad. The Decore is the art for sale coffee shop, which I don't mind. Some on the knick nacks on the wall seem forced, but that is really no reason to detract stars.

Awesome little spot! BEST donut I have had in I don't know how long! Stopped in today for a donut and java. Nice interior and a few tables and chairs outside. Outdoor seating is nice because it's in the shade during the morning hours while they are open. Employees there are super nice. Will be going back VERY soon.

Cake Donuts. NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM - half dozen gone. Boom. Review Done. Seriously, couldn't tell you how good anything else they do is. I can tell you they got a good, fluffy cake donut with good presentation. 3/4 of the donut selection they have is the same base vanilla cake donut with toppings, and the remainder are chocolate. I've tried the maple bacon, boston creme, and rasberry lemon and all were great. Not as great a selection as a true donut shop, but the cake donuts they do are very good.

Best donuts I've ever had. EVER. I typically don't eat donuts but I will eat these any time! I love the peanut butter donut the best! So good!

I went in for a chai latte and a doughnut and left with 21 doughnuts and very little intention of sharing. Friends: I don't often joke about drugs or drug culture, but I can assure you that I'm in no way joking when I say (with 98% certainty) that THERE IS CRACK ROCK IN THOSE DOUGHNUTS. How else did one doughnut and chai tea for turn into me buying my weight in doughy delights in under 5 minutes. It ain't right, but it feels soooo good. I'll be frank and come clean that the chai latte was not one of my favorites and was actually pretty weak. As the first thing I tried, I can recall taking my first few sips and thinking, 'Oh man, I was really hoping to like this place.', but after one single life-changing s'mores doughnut, I found myself sticky with marshmallow fluff, covered in graham cracker crumbs and fiending for more... 21 more, to be exact. I was surprised with the lightness of every doughnut. Everyone always talks about how light and fluffy Krispy Kreme is, but there's really nothing to them, at least in comparison to Sweet Mornings sweet flavors, but the Sweet Morning doughnuts, even loaded with chocolate and peanut butter and cream cheese frosting are whipped so well that eating three in one sitting and still having room for more will become a reality. I've never had a better bunch of dough. Officially, this is a diet's #1 enemy. The whole doughnut decision making process would have been made easier if they only had a few different flavor options, but on the early Sunday morning I was in (first customer of the day status!), they had 14 different flavors available and you know I needed AT LEAST one of each. So that happened and I was sitting there with my big box-o-doughnuts when I had the thought, 'Oh sh*t, my boo is gonna see this huge box on the counter, open it up and wonder why there's only 2 doughnuts hanging out all lonely style with the crumbs." So I decided I'd better get another 1/2 dozen as spares for the doughnut heirs destined to become king of my digestive system. I did end up sharing some of the deez doughnuts with a few people and after just one bite from the peanut gallery, my friend asked me if I'd ever been to Portland's famous VooDoo Doughnuts, to which I answered 'No'. His reply? "Don't bother. These doughnuts are better." My favorite was probably the s'more, but honestly, every flavor was worth noting. And even if none of the ones I've listed pique your interest, their selection changes daily and I'm itching to go back on a day they've got the Nerds candy doughnuts. * S'more - Best thing ever, but messy. Don't get this for your kid unless you're itching to get your stuff ruined. * Heath Bar - chocolate with Heath bar crumble on top * Reese's- chocolate doughnut covered in creamy peanut butter and drizzled with chocolate * Ice cream cone - Vanilla cupcake with cream cheese frosting and nutty, sprinkly ice cream cone topping on top. * "Suede" - This is their red velvet, but they don't use red dye so they're calling it suede. I'd call it cocoa velvet, but it's not my store. * Turtle doughnut - like Fannie May Pixies but in doughnut form. * Chocolate coconut - light while rich, I don't know how they do it * Cinnamon Apple - with real apple chunks inside the doughnut *** and more! With doughnuts this delish, I'd be willing to forget about cupcakes. Yeah, I said it... but please don't tell cupcakes.

This is a great such a great find! Their donuts rival any of the gourmet donuts made in the city. Highly recommend the maple bacon and the apple cider.

This is such a little hidden gem in Carol Stream. I only have amazing things to say about this well-run business! We came here early (read: when the sun came up because apparently my son is under the impression he is a rooster) on a Saturday morning. They open up at 6:30, and we were there a little bit after seven. Even though it was rub-your-eyes, blearingly early. We were not the first people in there. There was one person ahead of us in line picking out donuts--that was good because it gave me plenty of time to peruse my choices. My kids didn't need this time, however. My son zeroed in on this donut with chocolate frosting and chocolate sprinkles. You had his heart right there, Sweet Mornings. My daughter selected a plain (but there was NOTHING plain tasting about this treat...but I am getting ahead of myself) donut with chocolate frosting on it. I picked out about four things I wanted, but I ended up narrowing my selection down to a s'mores donut (yes, such amazingness exists!!) and a breakfast biscuit! It quickly became our turn, and we were happily greeted by a perky woman named Michelle (I happen to think her name is really great!). She apologized for the wait (what wait, really??) and helped us with our selections! She later came out and offered water and anything else we might need. WOW--such service! Six donuts, my husband's coffee, and two of our breakfast biscuits came out to be right around $17. Not too shabby for a family of four to eat WITH some leftover!! They could NOT be any more friendly here, I mean it. Halfway through our meal, a nice woman named Linda came out to see how everything was. She talked to my daughter and made her feel really special! Now onto the most important part: how was the food??? Ah-MAH-zing, dahling!!! My little breakfast muffin was a great size and SO tasty! You can tell it hadn't been sitting around forever-it was really fresh. As for the donuts, everything the other reviewers have said is true--they are melt-in-your-mouth-are-you-freaking-kidding-me-spit-on-your-neck-FANTASTIC!!!! My husband is a donut FREAK, and he said it was by far the best donut he had ever tasted! The kids devoured theirs, and I am STILL dreaming about the s'mores donut, no joke. So the service? FABULOUS The price? UNBEATABLE The taste/quality of food? UNPARALLELED They serve lunch there, too--soups and sandwiches from what it looked like, and I cannot WAIT to go back and try some more of what they have to offer!! (20% off check-in offer on Yelp!!)

We keep reading the great reviews about this place here on yelp and finally got to check it out. Not exactly knowing what to expect...its really more of a small counter place with just a couple of tables. We decided to try some food before donuts I have the secret....Bowl with a Biscuit Hashbrown Cassorole, eggs, Bacon, Cheese and sausage gravy...wow it was really great, they have excellent sausage gravy and my wife had a very good Sausage Panini. I would gladly go back for the food any time. The donuts are interesting a different kind of spin, most are basic cake donuts with innovative toppings like oreos or maple glazed with Bacon. We got a dozen and nothing really stood out too me. They were good but just not my thing, I'll stick with Spunky Dunkers. If your in the area it would be a crime not to check it out.

CLOSED. The donuts here were fabulous and I told everyone about them. Everything was fabulous. Sadly, the owners father is in ailing health and she closed. Prayers out to her and hopefully our paths will cross again. Best Donut Ever!!

This place does good cake style donuts. With different flavors. Like maple bacon, strawberry, cherry, etc etc. They are a little pricy but they are delicious. The best part is the plain donuts are not too sweet, so it's good for the little ones. We've had breakfast as well and it's nothing spectacular but it will do. It has the benefit of being across from the new Carol Stream fitness center, so after swimming lessons for our daughter, we go here. They use the Ipad as a credit card POS machine, which is kinda cool. The seating area is pretty small, so it's kinda hit or miss. We typically just buy the donuts and leave.

So you're looking for the best donuts in Carol Stream, you say? Look no further. I've come twice; once for the coffee, which was good, and once for coffee, donuts and some sort of a breakfast sandwich that's made in a muffin pan. I like the coffee, but I'm coming back for the donuts. The coffee is good; pretty strong, and high-quality syrups. Carol Stream once again has a local coffeehouse to its name, and I'm happy to say that this one will fit the bill if that's what you're looking for. The muffin was actually pretty good too. I liked the taste of the bacon, cheese and eggs... it's like having an omelette that you can hold. The texture was a bit odd, as searing an omelette tends to give it a skin, not unlike the skin on top of pudding that's been sitting in the fridge a while. The donuts are what's spectacular. They're scratch-made, with a tender crumb; most similar to the cake donuts at Dunkin' Donuts, but over there they have the texture of hockey pucks. Each donut is topped with a homemade glaze, or sometimes cookies, but always full of flavor. Each donut is good to the last bite. This is how it's supposed to be done! The interior is bright yellow and has birdhouses all over the place. I thought it was a nice touch. The couches are comfy but there's table seating as well. So needless to say, I'll definitely be back. Possibly on a bike, so I can afford myself an extra donut, in exchange for some exercise.

Such a lovely gem in Bloomingdale, it's my husband and I's favorite breakfast spot. The donuts are simple but incredibly perfect because of their freshness. We get donuts here every week and have yet to be disappointed. The food is great, prices are great, we couldn't be happier with this local spot. Stop in, you'll love it!

  • Kimberly E.

Good coffee (Metropolis) and service. Really chill place. Doughnuts were alright, about a dollar each. Biscuits and gravy was a bit much though. It is so peppery, and there's so much sausage it overwhelms the biscuit. Would have preferred it in a bowl so I could avoid having it smothered and taste the biscuit alone first.

BEST. DOUGHNUTS. EVER. I heard about this place, and thought i'd check it out. I stopped in on a Saturday while I was out running errands. It was after 12 by the time I made my way over, so there weren't that many options to choose from, but it didn't matter. I'm sure anything you try here will be delicious! Even my husband who isn't a big junk-food kinda guy was amazed at how good these doughnuts are (Dunkin Doughnuts should be ashamed!) They were so good that when I needed to bring something fun into work for a birthday pot-luck, i didn't need to think twice about where to go. Again, everyone at work raved about how good they are! Kinda crispy on the outside, moist cake on the inside, and really spectacular specialty topping/flavors to choose from. Definitely worth checking out - go early for the best selection.

My family really enjoys Sweet Mornings donuts. One word of advice, go early! They sell out fast. Also, if you check in on yelp, you get a free donut. Yay! The service is super friendly, the guy behind the counter chatted me up for 10 minutes about random business. I highly recommend this place.

I brought a dozen to work this morning and was treated like a rockstar the rest of the day. The peanut butter & chocolate was my favorite. The cake donuts, although fried, were light and fluffy with the slightest bit of crispiness from the frying. The toppings were generous with a good variety. My only complaint is that I would have preferred a few without chocolate, but that's all they had. Maybe next time. There will definitely be a next time!

This one is all on thanks to the Yelp App! I was bored one day and just checked out what was "New" in the area and saw all the reviews flowing in about Sweet Mornings, so I obviously had to try it since I live like 5 minutes away. My wife and I swung by just looking to try doughnuts and coffee. We didn't leave until we had a full breakfast (Weekends only) and a bakers dozen of donuts to go. The varieties that they offer are awesome! Fresh, light, fluffy and awesome flavor with each doughnut. The people who work here have been nothing but friendly and pleasant every time I have been. Awesome place to stop by for coffee too!

My co-workers brought these in and they are delish. On National Bosses Day we order some up to have for the office. Great Deal because everyone's a fan. Workers are very nice and I was in and out in no time.

Wow their donuts are amazing !! Tried the Boston cream donut and chocolate with coconut.. So moist and soft.. I can see myself getting addicted to this place and I'm not a big donut person ! Tried their biscuits and gravy , eggs, sausage , hash brown.. Pretty good .. Needed more salt but still good ..

  • Chrysa C.

Great donuts, and not much more expensive than a dozen purchased at Dunkin Donuts. Brought a dozen into work one day and lots of people went off their diets! It would be nice to see some cream-filled or maple/bacon donuts. Had the weekend biscuits and gravy platter and loved the spicy gravy. Biscuits not made on premises, due to the high demand we were told. The eggs needed a seasoning and the hash browns were mistaken as grits. They were waaaay too hot when served, so I'll assume it was prepared and then microwaved. I'd give higher points except for one reason: The messy tables and floors! I get it: It's a busy place in the morning and there are lots of customers. So hire a teenager to sweep the floors, wipe down tables and chairs and maintain the coffee area. When I see attention to cleanliness lacking in the front area, it makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like.

I hate mornings. I am a bona fide grouch in the morning. Yep, Oscar the Grouch is my favorite sesame street character and he is totally misunderstood. I think you know where I'm getting at. Can a doughnut make a self-proclaimed morning grouch happy and ready to start the day? You better believe it. Their shop is cute and sunny. I love the cute little bird houses decorating the walls. Service is friendly and upbeat and they really convey their passion for producing a delicious product. They have a small breakfast menu, but I was there for the doughnuts. Don't worry if the pastry case looks a little empty, you can see the racks of freshly baked and iced doughnuts right inside the kitchen door ready to be boxed up. And people WILL order boxes and boxes. The lady in front of me started with just a dozen but then her order ballooned up to 2 and a half dozen. All the doughnuts look to be cake doughnuts, but they aren't heavy or greasy at all. They are light and cakey and didn't leave me feeling like there was lead in my stomach. The icing is good too, creamy and not grainy. I bought a half a dozen to share--Maple Bacon, Peanut Butter, Vanilla and Cinnamon doughnuts were the ones I chose--And I can't say there was a bad one in the bunch. My favorite is the Vanilla, probably because it's iced with cream cheese frosting. All had great flavor and goes so well with your morning coffee or afternoon tea. I'm still going to be a grouch in the morning but if you have to deal with me early, remember this tip--bring me a SMC doughnut!

Great food! Doughnuts were wonderful and had great flavor selections. The biscuits and gravy ROCK!!! Yelp was spot on suggesting this GREAT little gem!

Their doughnuts are AMAZING! They always have a wide array of flavors to choose from. My favorite is their version of red velvet with cream cheese frosting... Seriously. Delicious. I have to refrain from licking the frosting off the doughnut so I don't ruin the whole doughnut experience, but it's just so difficult sometimes! Also, their breakfast is pretty stellar too. I would recommend the french toast. Yum!

  • Jillian H.

The service here is phenomenal! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the friendly staff. The woman working behind the counter asked if we had ever been their before and when we said no she took the time to explain each donut in the case. Wow! is all I can say. They don't make your everyday basic donuts here. Their donuts are creative and exceeded my expectations. I think they only make cake donuts which is what I prefer. They are very light and not greasy at all. The turtle donut is chocolate, caramel and pecan - AWESOME! We also had an Oreo donut - chocolate cake donuts with vanilla frosting and crushed Oreos on top, double chocolate donuts and Heath Bar donut. All the donuts were really yummy. Prices are comparable to any other donut shop but are 100% better than those chain donut places.

I guess I should have read the reviews more closely. I saw that this was highly rated for breakfast, so I stopped in hoping for a traditional breakfast cafe. It's more of a donut shop with a couple available hot breakfast options. I had breakfast tacos, which ended up being something I could have thrown together at home in the microwave, which I'm pretty sure they did. Not bad, just not what I was hoping for. Words to the wise: read the reviews, don't just go by the overall rating.

AMAZING!!!! When we first walked in, we were greeted kindly and super friendly. Me and my girlfriend both had the breakfast panini, along with a two drinks called the tropic thunder and the banana split. The drinks, first of all, were super delicious! The perfect blends to taste every single ingredient in the drinks. Than the food came out, and holy smokes its was fantastic! Eggs and bacon cooked to perfection! After we ate, we wanted to try one of their donuts. So we got the chocolate pecan donut, and that was the icing on the cake! Super fresh and delicious! Highly recommend spot for a breakfast cafe! Wish it was open all day!!!

Drove 45 minutes to check out what all the buzz is about to find out they're completely sold out of donuts, except the 4 left, in 2 rather undesirable flavors. Terrible business, can only comment on one flavor and it was not good.

  • Janni V.

Breakfast panini is nice! Creamy scrambled eggs, nice applewood smoked bacon (well, if you like bacon). Not as good as the lunch panini, but a solid breakfast offering. The apple cinnamon doughnut is the perfect combination of apple and cinnamon. Very nice. I don't know why you'd go anywhere else around here for cake doughnuts, seriously.

Me and my hubby rode our bikes going here on one Saturday morning for breakfast. Love the friendly and homey atmosphere. I especially enjoyed their breakfast panini and iced coffee. Their donuts are just yummy!! Will definitely visit again.

It is a sweet morning indeed! Friday, I wake up next to this sexy shirtless man and I just know it's going to be a good day. Oh calm down, he's my husband ;) I'm starving so I hop on yelp to see what's cookin in the burbs only to discover a place in Carol Stream I've never noticed before, Sweet Mornings! Husband takes a quick euro-defunker and we head out. Located in the rear-most area of a nice-looking plaza, our first impression was refreshing. The windows are painted with a fall scenery that's kinda hipster and reminiscent of downtown Chicago coffee shops. Oh, and imagine how happy we were to see that Metropolis Coffee is a-brewin up in here. YESSSS. Anticipation, check. Enter cafe: the decor is simple and tasteful. Birdhouses cover one wall and elementary style bird paintings rest in the window sills; gosh is it cute. We were tempted to enjoy ourselves at the outside table but settled for not freezing to death and sat in the cafe. It's comfortable (with a large leather couch) and yet practical (with regular tables and chairs to work at). There is free WIFI. Atmosphere, check. The service was exquisite! We were served by Alex who was prompt, helpful, knowledgable and pleasant to talk to. All transactions are done using simple and convenient technology. There is also this thing called "Belly," that I don't know anything about; just an FYI for those who care. Customer service, check. Put down the Captain Crunch! Everything at Sweet Mornings is fresh! I hear that the breakfast platter on the weekends is very good too. It's only like $6 or $7 bucks. The breakfast tacos are light eating and pretty reasonable ($3.50 I think). The coffee, as expected, is excellent. Duh, it's Metropolis. Folks, there are donuts and then there are sexy donuts. These are the sexy ones. Talk about attention to tastebuds! Homemade, decorated, tasty, slightly healthier than most donuts, and did I mention tasty? Just get one, they're only a dollar and totally worth it. This is defiantly a hot spot in the burbs and there is no way Sweet Mornings will be staying this small. Word is that the line goes out the door on weekends . . . Rockin' out, check.

Great little place. Offers a few breakfast and brunch items as well as the coffee and smoothies. Husband got the breakfast tacos (southwest eggs with sausage and pepper jack cheese) that were really good. I got the sausage gravy and biscuits, which was a bit peppery but very yummy. We both got smoothies which were very tasty as well. Great spot to walk to for brunch, small on the inside, but there are a few tables and a couple couches to gather on. Neat that they have a couple toys for the really little ones and some books to read while your there.

They literally have the best donuts in town! They are so fresh and there is something for everyone. My favorite one is the chocolate cake, chocolate frosting with coconut but my sister loves the maple bacon one. There is something for everyone there :)

Wow a vendor just dropped off donuts from your bakery. I literally just got done eating one (chocolate cake with a cream cheese frosting) and have to say it was the BEST DONUT I EVER HAD!!! A co-worker had the maple & bacon & is in love! LOL Before I took my last bite I was online looking for more information on your bakery and clicked onto yelp to write a review because you are that good! Looking forward to stopping in for breakfast & leaving with donuts!

Sweet Mornings Cafe, you blew me away! I walked in yesterday on a rainy afternoon and found a lone couple placing their order in front of me. There was one woman working the front counter and it was quiet other than a bit of chit chat back and forth between the three of them. I waited a few minutes which was good because it gave me a few minutes to look things over. There were still lots of donuts in the case at 1:30pm when they close at 3:00pm, so I was thrilled! I have been reading along behind all of my Yelp friends who've been here already and I have been drooling over the idea of a fresh, unique donut just a few minutes from my home. I finally made it over and I am so glad! The gal behind the counter was super sweet! She took the time to talk to me about every type of donut in the case. I missed s'mores today and Ghiradelli peppermint chocolate donuts should be arriving any day now, so these are good reasons to go back sooner rather than later. I decided on a half dozen to go and a hot chocolate. She tossed in an extra donut for good measure (or maybe because they had too many left...I don't ask questions, I was just grateful) and mixed up my hot chocolate. While steaming the milk we made conversation and I almost ordered some soup so I could sit down a stay a while longer. But, I had donuts to deliver and I wasn't hungry, so other than the pleasant conversation, I had no good reason to stay. Anyhow, they had fresh muffins and a ton of options for my coffee/hot chocolate like gingerbread, peppermint and the like. On the weekends, they have a breakfast plate with biscuits and gravy or pancakes. Our seven donuts were gone in a few short hours. Everyone was on a bit of sugar overload, but happy. Sweet happiness. That works. The turtle and the Reese's donuts were the best in my opinion. They're closed on Mondays which is okay since I can't eat gourmet donuts EVERY day.

This place is hidden at the very end of the strip mall across from the town square. I ordered a panini and a red velvet doughnut. The panini really hit the spot. The red velvet doughnut was good, but there was too much frosting and it was too sweet for my taste. The workers there were super nice and took 20% off my entire order for checking-in. Hopefully this place lasts longer than the previous coffee shop it replaced.

Get there early for a wide selection of donuts! I went here around 10 am and it was slim pickings. They did have some great toffee covered donuts and smores donuts, but not much else. They dropped one on the floor, so that kind of messed up my order. I guess they could have tried to pass it along after dropping it, so I can't get too upset about it. Our coffee experience wasn't the greatest here. They did my coffee up right, not hubby's. Then a familiar face came in and the staff got involved in a conversation and there was no hope of getting help to get it fixed. I'm all for local support of establishments, but we wanted some help and gave up after awhile. This really isn't a good place to hang out unless you want to be chatty with the other patrons or the owners. We were using it as an "escape from our 4 kids" spot and it's not good for that. There's not much seating and it's all close together, so not ideal for private conversations. It's all about the donuts here and they are yummy!

I stopped in this cafe for a latte a couple of weeks ago after finding out about this place from a Yelp weekly email. The latte was fantastic. They use Metropolis coffee, which is a Chicago roaster and it is seriously excellent coffee. The donuts were tempting but I did not grab one that morning and vowed to return. I returned today for a regular coffee (fantastic) and I bought 2 dozen assorted donuts to bring to work. I do not love donuts--I hate Krispy Kreme and I will occasionally have a Dunkin Donut cruller if it is around the office or something. I love sweets but have never been a big donut person. THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST DONUTS. I had a S'mores donut and it was a perfectly made cake donut with marshmallow frosting, graham crackers and chocolate topping. It was perfect. EVERYONE in the office asked me where I got the donuts from and several said it was probably the best donut they have ever had. I did not get to try any other kind because they were gone. What a hidden gem in Carol Stream. I will return for the coffee and the donuts! the people downtown waiting in line for Hours in hopes of an overpriced Doughnut Vault or Do Rite Donut or Glazed and Infused are MORONS. Head out to the western suburbs--these donuts are worth the trip !

So far from the times I have been there (3) times I'm always surprised at how soft and creative their donuts are. You walk into this tiny shop where you expect to get just coffee, NO! I walk in there and the first thing that catches my eyes are the different donuts they have, yes I've seen the apple one in multiple places and a peanut butter donut ok, BUT a Heath donut and a NERDS donut?!! Oh em gee my next donut will be that one! So far I've had the apple, Heath, Reese's, chocolate coconut, turtle and s'mores one (tried 1/4 of each w my family) and wow I'm impressed by the amount of flavor and softness of the dough. S'mores tastes just like a s'mores in donut form! So far from the times I have been there (3) times I'm always surprised at how soft and creative their donuts are. Best doughnut place in the area -- we are so glad we found this little gem, thanks to Yelp! We've stopped by quite a few times since then and plan to continue. Doughnuts are all tasty and fresh, with fun, unusual flavors. Also a big thumbs up for their bacon, egg & cheese biscuit -- very, very tasty! Friendly staff, cute decor -- only comment would be that every time we've been there, they have never had the doughnuts labeled so we have to ask what everything is. My husband and I both have hearing loss so it's sometimes hard to hear, especially if the place is packed. A little sign in front of each tray would be helpful. (Not a big gripe, just an observation.)

This review is for their smoothies, as we did not try their donuts. I'm a big smoothie fan, so thought I would give this a shot. I specifically asked "Do you put real fruit in them?" when I arrived, and the boy's response was "Umm...it's like a parfait." I don't think he nor I knew what that really meant, so I still decided to try it. Over $4 later, I got a cup full of blended ice mixed with sugar, syrup, and maybe some sort of fake fruit concoction. It was terrible. Mine and my coworkers' mouths were truly sore from the pure sugar content. If you're going to tape up a "real fruit smoothies" sign right on the front of the desk, there should at least be a sliver or FRESH fruit in them. I will not be coming back, even for their donuts. This just ruined my day.

They were kind enough to donate a bunch of donuts to our fundraiser. These donuts were not only gorgeous looking, they were soo delicious!.so many different and moist, delicious types to pick from! Even the packaging is cute! Try it, you will love.it . support local businesses.

I have never been to this place - just google mapped it - but a coworker brought a dozen donuts to the office this morning and we all cornered her to find out where they came from. I'm not really a donut person but that's about to change. These are the best, lightest, tastiest cake donuts I've ever had in my life. They are firm, not mushy or greasy, with a perfect light crust and not overly sweet or sugary. They are decorated like homemade - not all identical or mass-produced looking, which adds to their appeal. Well worth going out of your way for.

Wow!!! Found them out on yelp and drove from cicero to check the place out because of the reviews. Most definitely coming back. They have a great selection of donuts. wonderful customer service! Looking forward to the breakfast menu!!!

While most people like this cafe for its donuts, you should really give their weekend breakfast platters a try. Biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs, hash brown casserole and your choice of meat. It is beyond delicious. They also pretty much will make any flavor coffee or iced beverage that they can. I recently asked for an iced caramel macchiato to compare to Sbux and it was phenomenal. Give this place a try. And if you come here often, they participate in Belly rewards.

Make sure you try the pumpkin spice latte. Puts the chain to shame. Friendly staff made me feel so welcome. The Breakfast taco was fresh, tasty, and a good value (2 bacon, egg, and cheese for $3.50). There was approximately an egg to an egg and a half on each item and one full slice of bacon. If was lightly seasoned, which I appreciated. Got a variety of donuts for the family to try. I was disappointed that they didn't have the maple bacon donuts, but that happens and it gives me a reason to come back soon.

This place is great. I must admit when I first walked in I thought things where going to be bad there where a couple of young guys (skate boarder type) running the place . I stopped in with my son and we ordered breakfast the one young man took the order and the other looked over the order and went in the back and proceeded to cook are food I thought this guy does not look like a chef but everything turned out just how we ordered it . All that being said I think the place could be a little cleaner most of the tables needed to be wiped and the bathroom could have used some attention and I would have liked to see the guy cooking wash his hands . The young guys running the place where busy on the Internet but I still respect them for there friendliness . We got a couple doughnut to go and they where awesome the coffee also was excellent .

4 stars mostly because of the donuts looking so cute and picture perfect. They tasted good, too. .but I'm not really a huge fan of donuts, so. ... fair prices, great variety. .even 1 hour before closing had 10 to choose from. Only draw back. ..would it hurt to have a little name card in front of each donut? No indication of what kind of donuts are on display, so I asked the girl, who had the quietest little voice as she whispered the varieties, I had no clue what she was saying. So I just ordered blindly. All cake style, no filling. Definitely worth a try, but nothing I would crave

Stopped in to get 3 dozen doughnuts for work. The website has the ability to pre-order which was great because the donuts were boxed and waiting for me when I arrived. I go in to work early, so opening at 5:30 was a big plus for me. The donuts were great, I had a apple cinnamon doughnut which was awesome. The perfect crispy outside with a soft inside. The rest of the donuts were gone pretty quickly. Lots of variety, some classics, some creative new options. I won't buy donuts from anywhere else in the area. Too good. Will go back to try some other options. Might be a little more expensive than some of the fast food chain places, but you get what you pay for here.

Place is cozy and tidy. Everyone was very friendly at 7am when I walked through the door and happy to explain what donuts were available. Got a dozen and a coffee to go. These cake donuts are wonderful and I am hooked!

The place is small and easy to miss but it should not be overlooked! Stop by and try their delicious donuts and Cheese and Ham Panini. They can make it an all egg white breakfast, which is great if your trying to keep things healthy! I myself could not resist the chocolate covered donut with Coconut sprinkles. Oh and the prices are crazy cheap! This place is a must try. You won't regret it.

So nice to find a place that serves a great breakfast on the weekends (take note of that because they don't on weekdays), and makes some of the nest doughnuts that I've had in a long time. Good coffee, too. My only gripe, is that they could have cooked the hash browns a bit longer. They were still some of the tastiest hash browns that I have had, though. The two kids that were running the place did a good job, and were very knowledgeable. I really hope that this place makes it. They deserve to.

Downgrading the review here..been here lately and service is super slow due to understaffing. My biscuit sandwich came out burnt the last time. Donuts are still great but this place needs to be run better or else it will eventually fail.

I didn't have high hopes for this place since the first time I visited Sweet Mornings Cafe was locked up an hour earlier than their posted times (grrr!!!). I was curious though since growing up nearby I spent many many MANY days driving to and from Chicago to drink acceptable espresso that didn't originate from a can. I'm glad I gave Sweet Mornings another shot, because, hello, if I'm in the neighborhood I no longer have to trek to the city for delicious local roaster Metropolis coffee, this place has the right equipment (industrial Mazzer burr grinder? Rancilio??? swoooon!!!), and pulls a robust espresso shot with smooth crema. AND fresh cake style donuts with different toppings available fresh every morning (not many varieties, but the quality is there). This is a cozy little low key neighborhood joint and I haven't found a better espresso to be had within a 30 minute drive radius (and believe me, I'm a bloodhound for espresso. I will find it). This place is new, but some ways to improve as they grow would be to use better chocolate/syrups in their drinks, offer an alternative to the disposable cups, and PLEASE be open when you say you are going to be open. I'll definitely be back for more sips and nibbles.

I absolutely love this place- so does my husband and daughter. The donuts are AMAZING! There is also a small area inside that has toys for young children. We usually just get donuts here, but we have gotten the egg white sandwich as well- it is also very good! The cream cheese donut is my favorite.

Great cake doughnuts! I loved the turtle! We also each ordered a breakfast panini and coffee too, which was way too much food but delicious! All and all it was an excellent value and a tasty quick breakfast. Cannot wait to stop back again some time!

I led a bike ride over there (12 of us) and, as this was our first time there, asked for a consensus. The coffee drinkers said it rated up there with the best, the smoothie drinkers were well satisfied and the apple cinnamon doughnut I had was excellent. Service was superb and the store was very clean with some nice outdoor seating available. In addition, one of the staff even stood on a chair to take a group photo of us! It's a repeat.

We went here one Saturday morning to try a new breakfast place. We both got a weekend breakfast platter - the eggs and bacon were a bit normal, but the hash brown casserole, pancakes and biscuits and gravy were so good! I know they are known for their donuts, but they were okay, nothing too amazing. The coffee was normal but I got a caramel macchiato which would give Starbucks a run for its money! It was so rich tasting and they give you cute little stopper stickers which is fun. The only thing is that I got my donut, then our food came out 10 minutes later, and I had to wait another 5 or so minutes to get my coffee. A couple had walked in after us and they got their drinks before me, and the other lady was working on an order for a wedding. I would suggest working on handling each customer more timely.

Most amazing donuts I have ever had. Seemed like they came just out of the oven. Favorite was the red velvet without the red. Nice group of people running the cafe. Out of the way but worth the trip

Sweet Mornings is a sweet spot. Great coffee and fancy coffee ... great donuts but also a few gluten free options 'Southwestern Cup" YUM. They also have delish soups. The cafe is comfy and open and clean. Staff is warm and welcoming. I find myself going back every week for the goodies! Latte recipes are really good.

I work in the area and stopped in yesterday to pick up donuts for my office. I was looking for a place to buy treats, and thought I'd give Sweet Mornings a try due to the good yelp reviews. The location is pretty easy to miss. It's in the same little strip mall area as The Bulldog, and the sign outside just says, "Cafe." If I wasn't looking for this place specifically, I definitely never would have stumbled on it on my own. I really enjoyed by experience here. Service is great, and the staff is really friendly. The woman working the counter took the time to explain all of their flavors and give recommendations. When I got there at about 7:30, they still had a full selection. I got a variety of flavors and tried pieces of the s'mores, turtle, toffee, oreo, and vanilla with chocolate frosting (yikes..I guess I was hungry). All were delicious, but my favorites were the turtle and toffee (this one is particularly good with coffee). They had 13 or 14 flavors on display so you have options. It should be noted that all of their donuts are cake donuts, and they don't seem to offer any yeast or filled options. My preference is for cake anyway, but having the others would be nice for the sake of variety. In addition to the great service and product, the price tag on these donuts is amazing. After completing the circuit of donut shops in the city (and paying $3-5 each), it's crazy to find such a high quality product at Dunkin Donuts prices. I ordered 14 donuts, and my total was $14 and change. Awesome! This place is only a mile from work, and I'll definitely be going again.

This place is a little gem, bloody fantastic coffee and the best donuts you'll ever place in your word hole this side of the windy city. Located just off of Lies road in Carol Stream, Sweet Mornings Cafe is a quant little place that has great taste. Freshest way to start your day, so come check this place out.

Best Donuts in the suburbs by far. Their breakfast sandwiches and tacos are just as good. This is the perfect place to get breakfast on the weekend or on your way to work. I highly recommend this place to people who are looking for a sweet treat or a filling breakfast.

Today was my second visit to this naughty but nice location. The donuts are not what you are used to but are light, not heavy like they might look. Today I had the Maple Bacon which they were sold out of on my first visit, Fantastic flavors and they all look amazing. I also tried a Chocolate Coconut, what a treat. I am sad for my belly as this place is too close to my house. Look out next size of pants as they are coming soon. Good job Sweet Mornings Cafe.

The main selling point for me is they serve better coffee than any place within a 20 mile radius. This quaint little cafe got just about everything right. Their Metropolis coffee blend is rich, flavorful, and all around much better than Starbucks or any mega-chain offering. The doughnuts are gourmet and affordable. Yum.

I can't say enough good things about this cafe! Lattes are out of this world, banana nut latte has changed my life ;) The donuts are unbelievably delicious. I've never had one better. The owner Michelle is a sweetheart and is so great to our little group of moms who have now become regulars!

This is now the third time a co-worker has brought doughnuts in form Sweet Mornings and I had to finally write a review. The doughnuts are divine! Nothing short of spectacular! I live 40 miles from this place and will now go out of my way to frequent here. Today is Friday. Tomorrow I have to be in the area for work and I will definitely be getting up a little earlier to stop by.

Nice small little doughnut shop! Fresh to pick from everyday and they have flavors for everyone! Their coffee special is great too, 2 doughnuts and a coffee for only $3.50. I got the Resse's and the Apple Cinnamon Doughnuts. Good to support a mom and pop shop like this over a Dunkin Donuts.

I'm only reviewing on the donuts, as does anything else really matter? well, maybe bacon, but that'll have to wait for an update. I've been here twice now. First, i have to say, a few months ago, there was a lot of press on a few gourmet doughnut shops opening in the downtown chicago area, often by chefs of well known restaurants. I made the effort to get into the city to try one or two, and wasn't overly impressed. Maybe I chose the wrong donuts, or my expectations were too high, or maybe I'm not impressed with over the top donuts, or maybe I haven't yet tried the right shop in the city that will knock my socks off. That being said, I found the donut shop that does knock my socks off, right in my stomping grounds, the western burbs. I believe these are a cake style donut, as opposed to a yeast based donut. I'm usually more a fan of the yeast-based donuts, but these donuts at Sweet Mornings may have just converted me. I like to judge a donut shop on the most basic donuts first. nothing against the frilly ones, but if you can't do the basics well, then I won't be back. Let me say, Sweet Morning's basic donuts, are far from basic. They blew me away with the complexity of the dough, the frosting, everything. My first visit, I had what I figured was a basic cinnamon sugar, and I also had the plain buttercream frosted. I was blown away with every bite of both. The buttercream frosting was fresh, rich & creamy. I wanted to go right back for more. My second visit a couple day later, I tried what I was told was the cinnamon apple (I didn't really get any apple taste, but maybe it's what adds to the depth of the taste), and I also had the cherry frosted. Both were stellar. The cherry frosted blew me away. That better be there next time, as I have decided it may be my absolute favorite doughnut. ever. I can't wait to get back to try every donut they offer. Oh, and I did have a coffee. They brew Metropolis coffee, which may just be my favorite brew. I'm looking forward to trying a chai latte next time.

I'll have to give this place another chance because sadly I didn't have a great experience. It may have been I had poor timing because I came by around 1PM, hoping to try a bunch of doughnuts and a coffee, based on the reviews. Unfortunately by the time I got there, there were only a lonely three doughnuts in the display case (which were also not labeled, and this irked me). I tried two of them (apple cinnamon) and ordered two cafe mochas. The doughnuts were good, cake-style and covered with cinnamon sugar but cold and I didn't taste much apple. The mochas were not great--I could barely taste the espresso but maybe it was because they only offer 16 oz and 20 oz drinks. "American-size," I call it. It basically tasted like a chocolate milk to me, which just drownede out the Metropolis espresso. I'd go back to give them another chance on the doughnuts and probably pass on the lattes or mochas. I can't vouch for the food, but hope to try it another time.

Delicious!! Great donuts in different flavors as well as traditional. Bacon Maple, Oreo, Peanut butter...Chocolate frosted..all are wonderful and fresh. The staff is kind knowledgeable and a pleasure to do business with.. Don't waste your time at Dunkin..try these and you'll be hooked. Yum!

Friendly staff, awesome food! They have only been open for three weeks, but seem to have a good idea of how to care for their customers. We had the bacon, egg and cheese bundle. This is sort of a cross between a cupcake and a biscuit. Very good and flavorful. Nice texture and size. We also tried the cookies and cream donut - 10 stars! My husband loved the cinnamon roll bundle. It had a perfect sour cream frosting, not too sweet. The coffee was great also, with the americano voted our favorite. We will definitely go again - soon!

The food is very good here. Donuts were fresh and light with delicious frosting. The Egg Bundles are like a whole breakfast in your hand. I recommend the Southwest. The place is very cozy with a nice leather couch in addition the the dining style table and chairs. Oh, and they have a special roast of coffee that is fantastic. You have to stop by, it's worth the trip.

I recommended this place for my monthly "coffee & catch-up" with friends on a weekday morning. Again, the coffee was excellent. However, the donut selection was just "ok" compared to my last visit. They looked smaller with less toppings and there were not as many to pick from. The donut I selected (chocolate with chocolate frosting) was dry and unimpressive, and I wondered if it was a leftover from yesterday. Perhaps the owners are saving their best for weekends? Next time I visit during a weekday, I'll stick to coffee only.

Great little breakfast place, the donuts are so fresh and tasty! When there's a line out the door for donuts you know they are good! I love the different varieties they offer, the bacon maple donuts is quite a unique combo and delicious!! I often forget this little cafe exists because it's tucked away in the corner of the strip mall not visible from the street, they should have a huge sidewalk sign for advertisement but all and all... A nice hidden treasure!

For a donut option in the burbs, especially so close for me this place works. They currently have a special 2 donuts and a coffee $3.75 which is - a pretty sweet deal, haha see what I did there? Their donuts are good, but not great. I think they could get a bit more creative. I think it could be a super cute little place if they re-did the inside a bit. I saw in some pictures they used to have a couch which is no longer there. Some high tables and some low tables. It would be cool if they get a few outdoor tables with summer coming up - not sure if they do that. I also feel like they could get better coffee sales if they did like a drink special and made up a fun flavored espresso beverage - lets not lie, we totally all buy into that kinda stuff. I think this place has some serious potential. We need a cool donut/coffee place in the boring burbs!

I just found my new favorite breakfast place! :) Within 30 seconds of perusing the reviews and viewing the photos, my husband and I were dead set in coming! Sweet Morning Cafe is a small local shop with an instant charm factor! There are lots of cute birdhouses that fill the space but its second to the sweet smells of donuts and coffee that fill the air! While we were at the cafe for about 20-30 minutes there was a steady stream of customers... customers who are obviously serious about breakfast. If they are willing to leave the comfort of their beds on a Saturday morning and brave the 7 degree temperature outside, I think, as the shops to-go boxes state "[They] deserve a donut!" I got the breakfast tacos (my selections: flour tortilla, southwest scrambled eggs, cheese, and a sausage). YUM. Don't worry, we also got half box of donuts - two of which my husband ate while we were there, and the rest we savored back at home. Oh, and you know how to tell if a breakfast place is legit? Their coffee. Their coffee was so bold and so rich. It woke me right up and totally helped me kick start my day! Easiest decision of 2015: I WILL BE BACK. This place doesn't break your wallet and the food is simple awesome. Thank you Sweet Mornings Cafe!

Places like this are just too few nowadays. The owner gets their daily to make fresh doughnuts. These are not your typical doughnuts though. They are not greasy and the flavors are incredible. With each visit I am more and more impressed. Today we also had their breakfast Panini. And wow! This thing is not only reasonably priced but its huge and delicious. I had the sausage, scrambled eggs and cheese. I have a huge appetite but I had to share due to it being so much. I really cant wait to return there and try another item. The only sad thing is that they close at 1:00 PM daily and they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

I don't like to live with regrets. But I'm living with one right now. I'm living with the regret that I didn't leave Sweet Mornings with more donuts. Like dozens...because, yes, they are that good. And it doesn't hurt that the staff (owner, perhaps?) is incredibly sweet. The place itself is pretty small - a handful of tables, a couch and a couple chairs. The menu offers a variety of breakfast-y items from breakfast tacos (which were pretty tasty overall, if basic), to egg sandwiches, to lots of coffee options (my decaf iced Americano was great), and the donuts...the glorious donuts. They make them fresh daily and you'll find varieties like Apple Cinnamon, S'Mores, Chocolate Coconut, Chocolate Peanut Butter and many more. I checked in on Yelp (free donut with check in!) and scored an Apple Cinnamon donut to take home and decided to grab a S'Mores too. While I haven't yet dug into the S'Mores yet (I'm hoping I can make it to the afternoon so I can share it with hubs and daughter), the Apple Cinnamon was perfect. Said donut was perfectly spiced, perfectly light and just plain delightful all the way around. Next time I'm absolutely grabbing a dozen to go. And probably won't intend to share. Pro tip: Free Wifi!

I've been meaning to come try the donuts for a while, but don't often find myself in the area before they close at 1 pm. I finally made it there last Sunday and picked up 1/2 dozen donuts for $6.60. The donuts don't have any signage to identify the flavors, so I had to ask the cashier about what some of them were. It was loud in the shop and was hard to hear him over the counter. It was also kinda tedious to point and keep asking "and what's that one?" I picked out what looked good based on the frosting. My favorite was the maple bacon, which had good flavors and wasn't too sweet. All the donuts were good, but I didn't find one with any fillings which I was hoping one might have. All the donuts seems to be the same and varies by the frosting/toppings and dough flavor. They are good for what they are and I'd come back for them.

Well, I believe I owe this place an update... I'm happy to say, my iced coffee qualms have been addressed! They only brew it in the warmer weather, when it is popular. I guess not everyone drinks it year round like I do. So, I'll live it up while summer's here, then just order hot coffee once they stop brewing cold for the year. Life is too short for that hot-coffee-poured-over-ice nonsense. I can make that pathetic stuff at home. On another happy note, it seems they stopped storing food items in the restroom. Win! I think someone has been reading their Yelp reviews, smarties. The guy who's usually working when we stop in is not what you'd expect a donut maker and seller to be. He isn't round and jolly, but he IS helpful and knowledgable about their business and products. He filled me in on the story of the iced coffee, and also let me know that they keep plain donuts in stock behind the counter for those who like them (or for those who like to give their small toddler a donut treat while minimizing stickiness and sugar intake). My only suggestion these days is that the shop could be cleaner. I'm talking, the floors especially. There are large chunks of food and even some trash collecting under some of the furniture, clearly visible from the dining area. That's all for now.

Omg. Two things you should know about me. 1-I just moved to the burbs and miss all the amazing Chicago coffee houses and roasters. 2-not a huge fan of donuts. Crepes, yes. Croissants, yes. Let by start by saying "Metropolis coffee!!!! After spying said cup in a review I drop over today (waved at Sbux on my way by) to get my fix. Also got two donuts just to check out the hype. The apple cinnamon is heavenly...was recommend by the young man making my latte. macadamia nut, yum. So big win, at great prices! A mile past the Sbux I thought I was doomed to visit. Yeah!!!

I discovered this place during food day at work. A nice looking donut box with a Homer Simpson donut on the front, how could I turn that down? I had a s'mores donut, and instantly became a fan. I took my daughter there one morning after we discovered that basically every breakfast place by our house was too crowded. Come to find out that not only do they have the world's best donuts, but they also have biscuits!! It's a great little place with great food. But get here early or they might be out of donuts :)

We were planning to be out their way Saturday morning so I decided to surprise the Hubs with a stop here for donuts. Nice little place, smaller than what I was expecting based on their menu. We were there by 9:45 a.m. on Saturday & they were already sold out of a couple kinds of the donuts for the day so they definitely have a fan base coming in to snag them up first thing! For donuts we tried the Chocolate Toffee (chocolate cake donut w/a white frosting & chopped up Heath bar on top) & the Chocolate Coconut (chocolate cake donut w/chocolate frosting & coconut on top). Both were very good! I'm not a huge cake donut fan but these were some of the best I've tried. I also had a latte & it was darn tasty as well. The 3 guys working there were all very nice & happy to answer any questions. They have a few small tables & a couple couches with a coffee table. There is also a box with some toys for the little ones to entertain themselves. The place is decorated very cute with little bird houses & local artwork & the ladies room had some cute flower decals on the walls.

I've tried 6 donuts from here, all delicious, but the turtle one was my favorite because of its thick, authentically-flavored caramel frosting. The other donuts that I've tried were the oreo, reese's, chocolate, heath, and smores. A bit pricier than the standard suburban donutshop, but cheaper than gourmet donuts downtown (half dozen of Do-Rite's was $16.52 after tax, April '13 price). Donut prices: $1.15 each, $6.60 half dozen, $13.20 dozen I wish that they offered non-cake donuts too, but I like the looks of their well-priced breakfast menu.

After coming here for over a year they are still our go to spot. On the weekends they offer a breakfast special with the best hashbrowns, eggs, pancakes or French toast. You get so much food for around $7-$8. Moreover, you can also try the breakfast Panini or biscuit and that will fill you up with a chance of leftovers! Don't forget the donuts too!

Never knew how many donuts I could eat in one sitting prior to checking out Sweet Mornings. I'm not proud of this, but you know, as the kids say, yolo. To be fair, this is your fault, yelp. I was perusing for suburban donut meccas one boring Saturday morning and had all but given up on the idea that something in the suburbs could be zany, unusual, and trendy. Then finally, I saw glimmers of hope. Amidst the reviews of boring, traditional, ye olde dunkin shoppes, I saw words like Nutella pretzel, salted caramel, and s'mores donut. I literally got up, got dressed (just kidding, I went in pajamas. I'm already buying a dozen donuts solo, the veneer of dignity is past me) and headed for Carol Stream. Mind you, the place isn't cute. I drove past it twice on accident. It's dim and teeny tiny, and I'm shocked people dine IN the space. But I didn't mind. I was there for one thing - donuts. A charming (approximately) 15 year old gentleman helped me pick out my selections and seriously, I had to have 12 to try all the flavors I wanted. Red velvet?! Pumpkin?! Cream cheese frosting?! STOP IT. I actually don't remember how much that dozen cost, I was so freakin excited - but it couldn't have been that much, because I wasn't shocked or anything. I waited till I got home to try one, but the car smelled so amazing, it was a struggle. When I FINALLY tried one - an enormous bite of the red velvet flavor - I was in heaven. Soft, sort of chewy, sort of crisp-edged, flavorful heaven. The frosting on each one is generous and complimentary, and the flavors are ACTUALLY dead on - the hubs knew the flavor of each one he (was allowed to) try without asking. I want to go back ASAP, but have thus far resisted - only because no one needs to sit in their pajamas pawing anxiously through a box of donuts with any sort of frequency. Yolo or not.

Came in around 6:30 AM on a Wednesday, 10 minutes after finding out about this place. I live about 6 minutes away. I've lived here for 3.5 years now. I stopped looking for a good local donut shop about 3 years ago, and this place snuck in on me after that. Shame on ME! If you're looking for a delicately fried light glazed donut, this doesn't seem to be the spot for it. If you're looking for cake-style donuts with a great variety of flavor/topping combos, this is your joint! Picked up Oreo, S'Mores and Maple Bacon this morning myself. The Oreo was a good starter. Saving Maple Bacon to go with my upcoming coffee. Didn't catch the name of the woman behind the counter, but she seems very friendly and cheery and talkative. For 6:30 AM. Almost suspiciously so. And I say that as a morning person. Then again, I hadn't had my coffee yet. Will be back for an office order of donuts. Will probably also be back to check out breakfast sandwiches.

So sad to see this place closed. We lived just down the street and went here every weekend. It was a wonderful family owned place. There is a note on the door that says they had to make a difficult choice to close due to family health reasons. I really hope whatever difficult challenge they have going on will come to pass and they will reopen someday.

"These are the best frikkin donuts!" Those were the words my friend mumbled whilst trying out her 8th variety of donut. I tried going in here in a Friday at around 10:30 or 11 to pick up a dozen donuts for the weekend. Unfortunately when I got there, the case was empty. The only donuts they had were behind the counter and were two flavors I wasn't really interested in. The lady behind the counter told me I could place an order online to pick-up the next day. Perfect. I went home, selected my order and had it available for pick-up the following day. I went in around 12:30 and was surprised to see a case full of donuts. I would have had no problem picking out a dozen. They must make extra on the weekends. I tried to match up the donuts to my order to figure out which was which. For the most part, they were easy to identify but it looked liked the Smores was replaced with something else. I wasn't notified via my email confirmation or when I picked up my donuts that they had to substitute so I was a little disappointed. On top of that, they replaced it with a plain chocolate donut, BORING! All of the donuts were cake which isn't normally my favorite but their recipe is perfect. The flavor is great and they are a perfect texture. Maple bacon- these were good but let's be honest, MORE BACON! Cookies and cream- great donut, perfect amount of crushed Oreo on top. Yellow cream cheese- exactly what you would expect. Yellow cake donut with a cream cheese frosting. Suede- this is their take on red velvet which I wish they put on their website because I would have ordered more, love the cream cheese frosting! Toffee- this one was a little disappointing. The toffee wasn't as strong as the frosting on it. Turtle- this one was great, perfect amount of caramel. Peanut butter- I was really disappointed on this one. It tasted like a donut with straight peanut butter. I wish the peanut butter was a little sweeter. They also have a free donut check-in offer so I will definitely be back but will consider ordering online for future orders!

I enjoy this place a lot. I love that they have couches and toys in baskets for kids to play with. The freshly baked donuts are absolutely delicious! The pink Cherry kind has always been my favorite donut. I haven't come across it anywhere other than at Tim Hortons in Canada. I was ecstatic when I found out that they have it here! Unfortunately, they only sell it as a flavor of the month twice a year..... boo! But! They sell it during February :D So I'l be passing by soon. They also have a wide variety of selections so I'm sure I'll find other favorites. They serve breakfast too, which is really nice for a "cafe." My only con is their hours, they close by 1. :(

I don't usually like donuts except baked ones bc they're usually too sweet and / or make me feel sick afterwards bc they're too greasy. Sweet Mornings Cafe is close to my jobs so I decided to give it a try bc of all the good reviews. I went in shortly after 8 am and there was plenty of selection. Today was extremely cold so not sure that is the norm. I ordered 3 diff kinds just in case it didn't like them. Donuts were beautifully decorated but exterior seems hard, giving the false appearance that they're dry. But the interior was moist, exterior slightly crunchy, donuts were not overly sweet or greasy. My favorite was the Smores donut. I look forward to trying other flavors. Simply the Best is the motto on their website - I have to agree!

These donuts are fantastic, but you better get there early! I visited on a Saturday around 10:00 a.m., with the intention of getting a dozen donuts. As I approached the counter, the guy told a customer they had just sold the last Maple Bacon. The guy then sold the customer the last red velvet. These donuts move FAST. When I got up to the counter, there were about 7-8 varieties, and maybe 2-3 dozen total left on the rack. When I placed my order, I kind of cleared them out. To the people waiting in line behind me, sorry I'm not sorry! The donuts all have that slight crunchiness on the outside. They are all cake donuts, no yeast, but all very light and fluffy. My favorite was the vanilla with the cream cheese icing. Most of the flavors were variations of a chocolate or vanilla donut, with chocolate or vanilla frosting, and toppings like sprinkles, coconut, or some type of candy. They're about $13 for a dozen, or $1.15/each. Since I was meeting friends here for "brunch," I didn't know that they don't do an extensive breakfast menu. There are a few Panini and some smoothies on the menu, but I was content scarfing down 3 donuts. I also had the Funky Monkey smoothie, a mix of chocolate and banana. It was so good, I'd come back just for a smoothie! Keep that in mind if you happen to come in here and they're sold out of donuts. I sat here with two of my friends until about 12:00 p.m. When we left, all that remained were a few cinnamon donuts. There are about four tables in here and a couch, but I had no problem saving a table. Also, your voice will echo in here, so if you're brunching with your gal pals and recapping your crazy night, you might want to take that elsewhere. Only one donut really disappointed me - the peanut butter. I shared this one with a friend, and I was expecting it to be like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. It was a plain donut with peanut butter spread on top of the donut. I like peanut butter, but it was too much. I wish this place had been around when I lived in the area ten years ago! It would also be super cool if Sweet Mornings opened a second location. May I suggest Naperville or Plainfield?

Popped in here after a doctor appointment based on all the glowing donut reviews. Cute, smaller place at the end of a strip mall. Service was quick and very friendly. While they don't have the number of donut varieties as other places, what they do have are both original and unique donuts others don't offer around here. I had a plain chocolate frosted since I wanted to see how they do the basics. I also had a chocolate cake donut with white icing and Oreo crumbles. The donuts were fried to perfection, a nice light crunch upon first bite, followed by moist cake awesomeness! The donuts were pricier than anyplace I've ever been (1.15 or so each) but they were arguably the best I have ever had. The only faults I had with them other than price were its too far from our house and I'd have liked a bit more chocolate icing on my donut. Extremely minor flaws though. If I am ever in the area, I'll definitely be back! Almost worth the 40 minute drive!

Only cake donuts, not super fresh tasting. The other food options available are not worthwhile. Pass.

Solidly ok. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, some donuts, and a couple of espresso drinks. The breakfast sandwich came last, by the time the donuts were mostly devoured. Meh.

Best local coffee shop in the area! The lattes are incredible; better than anything that you'd get at a big chain coffee place. Every order is customizable so you get exactly what you want! The delicious breakfast is made immediately after you order it; there is no waiting around for your food and drinks. The service is great, workers are friendly, and atmosphere is cute and quaint...Sweet Mornings Cafe is everything you'd want in a little local coffee shop!

In the very early hours before I come into work often times I find myself picking up a half dozen or dozen donuts to be shared with my co-workers. Duncan Donuts are everywhere, and I've found a few independent donut places as well. One such establishment is Sweet Mornings Cafe. Located just off of Lies road in Carol Stream, Sweet Mornings Cafe is a small coffee shop/donut shop that specializes in unusual donuts. What makes these donuts unusual? Well some of the types they carry are Maple and Bacon, Smores and Oreo Cookie bits. Needless to say this right away makes Sweet Mornings Cafe stand out from other places in the area. So how are the donuts themselves? Well they're extremely soft, surprisingly light and have a great texture to them, every donut I've tried has been excellent. In bringing these in to work on several occasions the general impression is quite positive. The downside to this is that they are a little more expensive than other donut places and around 1.00 each and slightly discounted in quantities of a half dozen and dozen. While the impression from co-workers has been positive overall, the fact that they don't have traditional styles of donuts like French Crullers, Bavarian cream and other popular but traditional choices means I get a few people who aren't happy with the assortment and describe the selection as whack. The comments and looks I got from bringing in a donut with bacon on it were a sight to be seen. Overall, I like Sweet Mornings Cafe and completely recommend it as an interesting place to find unique donuts. I haven't tried anything else they offer besides the donuts, and may in the future and update the review then. As far as donuts go, if you're willing to pay a slight premium for something different it's well worth it. I am going to award them four stars.

AMAZEBALLS. I came here on a Sunday morning when my kids were gone and hubby was gone. I thought I would treat myself. I saw all of the awesome variety of donuts and thought I would get a half dozen so when my kiddos came home they could have a treat... well I ate half of every donut. Judge me, I don't care, they were heavenly. I decided to secretly save the remains for the next day. I also got a coffee. I wasn't expecting much but OMG excellent coffee!! They have a cooler with great creamers and a nice little coffee are with all the sugars. All in all this place is AWESOME. I will be returning, probably with the kids next time. So glad I found this place!

Awesome fresh donuts, and the service is great! We love to come here after church for a breakfast sandwich. I always get the bacon egg & cheese biscuit (so much better than McDonalds!) and my wife always gets the breakfast panini. They are both delicious. Try the bacon donut!

I don't get it. It is a small place with 4 tables, 2 sofas, and an order counter. The food is good and affordable....breakfast Panini's are about $3.50, but the cleanliness level is where this place loses stars. We arrived early...heck, we've got toddlers so we were in by 8am. The floors looked like they had not been swept for days. Crumbs everywhere! Styrofoam plates....eew. Every time the door opened, it flooded the tiny place with frigid air. Donuts were fun flavors...bacon, peanut butter, chocolate were a few. All are cake-type donuts. Metropolis coffee not brewed as well as competitors in the area.
